First Spring Project

Sooo....the projects on the house begin for the year. When we moved into the house we knew we didn't care for this wall...it limited the space in the eating area of the kitchen, and it was awkward...still is. Hubby and I have gone on and on...shall we get rid of it, change it, move it...what? So....we've decided to get rid of it to open up the space. I anticipate it is going to be a nice improvement...but I must admit I won't be sure until the project is done. So, here are pictures of the ugly wall, the paneling is already pulled off, and the project is to begin today. I will post pictures as the project progresses this week, they hope to be done in two days, as they are building a column for the support beam. And, I'm going to be very busy as we leave for Spring Break vacation on Easter morning. CAN'T wait! More to follow on that as well. Hope everyone is having a great week! A few pictures of the before project.

  1. Hi Rose - I think you are making the right move here - without this wall you will open up the rooms and have more freedom to move through I'm certain. Doesn't seem like the wall really has a practical purpose. Hope the demo/construction goes well and they don't make too much mess!!!
Have fun with making changes - and be sure to have a great trip.

Easter Blessings to you and your family.

  7. Rose - I think you will be glad you took this wall down. We did that once and were always SO glad. It will open your space up so much. Looking forward to seeing more pictures as it progresses. ~Adrienne~

  17. I stumbled across your blog and couldn't believe how much we have in common! The same light fixture the same rooster fetish and I believe that the wallpaper you love is actually the pattern of the fabric I have used throughout my home (in a different color) I will definately be back often to visit. :)Paula
