BLOOD...SWEAT....TEARS.... Oh alright, no blood...but when I was done I could barely walk, and my arms were killing me! I'm gettting too old for this. My poor kids had several helpings of waffles....you think I was going to cook AND wallpaper????
I thought I'd get the project going...and 8 hours later, well I was DONE! I adore the way my wallpaper adds so much warmth to the kitchen, LOVE IT. I managed to clean everything, polish the counters...and well now I can sit back and enjoy it. I almost hired someone to hang it, then I got brave, and frankly I don't care to see another dang roll of paper for a while!
ok, see those sconce lights to the side of the french doors?...I turned off the power in the kitchen, and managed to get those off of the wall, yes unhooked wires and all....and put the paper on the correct way....oh good thing hubby was at work...he would have never let me do that on my own :) I was pretty proud of myself - ha!

Wallpaper hanging tip - when hanging paper on a single focal wall, start your first strip in the middle and work your way to the edges. Your edges will end in the same pattern.
oh yea, don't mind the mess in the dining room, ugh it was a hard busy day...
My cupboards look really white in these pictures...must be the flash. They are cream.
Rose,
ReplyDeleteYour wallpaper looks great. You did a really good job hanging it. Check papers are tricky to get a straight line across the ceiling and yours came out beautifully. Really adds a warm cozy look.
Thanks for the continued sweet comments also.
Hugs,
Sue

It looks wonderful! I am a big fan of wallpaper when it is done right, and you got it!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent choice -- and a marvellous project -- the results really show your preparations and hard work! Have a glass of wine, some Godivas --- and sit back and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJan at Rosemary Cottage who couldn't hang wallpaper to save her life! LOL!
I love the wall paper! I looks especially nice as the back splash. It makes the room even cozier. I think you have a good eye for decorating. I wish I had your passion for decorating. I have the best compliment for you. When my mon was sick in the hospital, and we were talking about fizing up her house she wanted you to decorate her house. She thought you had a gift, and she wanted you to make her house what she called "livable". She loved your taste and trusted you to make her home beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, when you're finished with that refinery job, I see you having a successful business. You talked about your dream of striking it rich. I don't think you ahould rack your brain looking for a new invention. I think you could open a store for home decorating. A cozy shop similar to your home. With your taste, thing will fly off the shelves. Keep it in mind you know how you love to shop.
Love. Diana
