False Alarm...

Goodness I feel like a complete toad. Yep, wondering why I'm posting at 5am? Because my hubby is working the night shift and I could have sworn I heard the basement door close at around 4:23am. We have a two story house, and my boys and I were sound asleep when I heard the basement door close. I got up and called out for my hubby and no answer. I got scared and I called the police. Ugh, they checked the entire house and probably think I'm a nutcase now.....boy I feel stupid. Yes I had our town's finest come and see me in my pink pj's with red hearts all over.....goodness.......has anyone ever done this before? Please tell me you have!

Phew.....I think I'll go back to bed now, I'm getting really sleepy.

  1. Yep, I'm here for ya girlfriend! Mr. Jones was out of town, and my alarm went off at 3:00 in the morning. I had the police come over (I had on pjs and a robe, and there were toys EVERYWHERE) and search the entire house. Turns out there was no break-in. It was just an alarm malfunction.

I thought my heart was going to jump right out of my chest, though. And I'm glad I had the police stop by. I do like to tidy up before bedtime these days. ;-)

  2. I woke up my neighbor once in the middle of the night when my husband was in the hospital. Poor guy, I called him at 3am and said I heard something. Now I have dogs and they let me know if there's something to worry about.

  4. Awe, I am sorry that happened to you! I am pretty brave..except when a BAT gets in the house, which has happened twice...twice too many...ahhhhh! Thankfully, hubby was home both times, I don't know what I would do if it happened and he wasn't home...shiver...

  10. Bless your heart. I don't like to be home alone at all either. The few nights that John has worked the night shift I didn't get much sleep either.
Get some rest today. The police are probably used to these kind of call and better safe than sorry.
    Hugs,
    Sue

  11. Hi Rose sweetie, I am sorry that you got a fright honey, but I sure can relate to your story! I didn't call the 'boys in blue' but I did call a neighbour and wake him and his wife from a deep sleep. False alram too and soooo embarrassing! I hate it when my husband travels for work, I often don't sleep at night and nap through the day. Silly I know! Wishing you a wonderful weekend and some good rest dear Rose.

  13. Rose I would have done the same thing. I hate being alone at night and usually fall asleep with the tv on. I think you did the right thing.
